GSAS award - 3 STAR for QDC designed Khalifa Energy center & office building

GORD, the certifying body of Global sustainability assessment system (GSAS) awarded 3-STAR rating to Khalifa stadium Energy Center and Aspire new Head Quarters, design and construction project. The award was jointly received by both the service providers, Galfar Al Misnad for construction phase (Contractor) and Qatar Design Consortium for design phase (Design consultant). Representatives from both the organization. Mr. Satish Pillai, Executive Director, Mr. Jayamohan, Head E&I, Mr. Joypetah, Sr. General Manager, Mr. Venkatesan, Manager QHSE, Mr. Navaneetha Shetty, Head QHSE, Mr. Rathish, Sr Project Engineer from Galfar Al Misnad and Mr. Subrato Mukherjee, Executive Manager, Mrs. Sreejaya, Project Manager of Qatar Design Consortium, Received the plaque from Dr. Yousef Alhorr, Founder Chairman of GORD today at GORD office, Doha-Qatar.
QDC obtained Provisional Design & Build Certificate - LOC during April 2018, further Galfar Al Misnad has successfully completed the construction as per the design. The effort of service providers was commended by GORD working towards sustainable future of Qatar. The award is first of its kind for an Energy Center building in the State of Qatar and pioneer in obtaining SEER certificate. The Energy centre is the biggest district cooling plant in Qatar with a capacity of 80,000 tons including TES Tank.
QDC scope of work were Architecture, Structural, GSAS & AOR Design Consultancy services. The members involved in the project include Architect Mr. Ragesh Gopal & Team, Structural Engineer Mr. Geofrey Jose & MEP design review Engineers Mr Vivek P K, Mr Vivek Prasath & Mr. Nabeeh Abdul Azeez.
