PROJECT DETAILS
The task was to create a traditional place of worship in a state of art sports complex. The design fully reconcilled the fundamental principles of mosque design with modern aluminium and glass-clad exterior. Familiar elements of Mosque architecture, like the minaret were brought up to date with stark lines and sharp corners to set off the starting curve of its roof. The roof, with corners on a sharp axis pointing to the Holy Ka’aba, was designed to mimic direction of one prayer, as the downward slope of the roof was designed to mimic submission to Allah’s will.
