PROJECT DETAILS

Q-Tec Switchgear W.L.L (Q-Tec) has manufacturing facility for low voltage and medium voltage electrical equipment. Q-Tec is in the process of establishing a Powder Coating Plant as an expansion activity to the existing manufacturing facility. Its wide range of switchgear products caters to industrial and commercial electrification, substation and power plant.

Powder coating is an extensively used technology, which gives enhanced surface finish to metal products. Powder coated component extended the life span of the switchgears panels, more required by extreme conditions as seen in Qatar.

Q-Tec management has retained the services of Qatar Design Consortium (QDC) to carry out the baseline environmental study and prepare an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study report.

In order to relate the existing environment with the proposed project activity, it was imperative to carry out detail evaluation of the baseline environmental characteristics including: Ambient air Quality, Noise Level, Soil Quality, and Groundwater quality.  Applicable regulatory requirements were reviewed and compiled before commencing a structured and detailed baseline studies and a refined modelling analysis has been conducted using AERMOD.
