PROJECT DETAILS

Industrial Cable Management System Co. (ICMS) is in the process to establishing a Hot Dip Galvanizing Plant (HDG) as expansion activity at existing cable tray and associated component manufacturing facility in Mesaieed Industrial Area.

The proposed installation is planned for a capacity of 12000 tons per annum of finished galvanized products such as Cable trays, Support system, Ladders among others. ICMS presently operates at its existing manufacturing facility to produce structural products from sheet metal cutting and punching operations.

The demand for galvanized steel products is high in Qatar due to the upcoming FIFA 2022 world cup and various mega projects such as the Qatar rail projects, stadia, the New Port Project and other several infrastructure projects; the demand is expected to increase in the foreseeable future. From an economic point of view, the proposed project has therefore been found to be viable.

ICMS management has retained the services of Qatar Design Consortium (QDC) to carry out the baseline environmental study and prepare an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study report.

In order to relate the existing environment with the proposed project activity, it was imperative to carry out detail evaluation of the baseline environmental characteristics including: Ambient air Quality, Noise Level, Soil Quality, and Groundwater quality.  Applicable regulatory requirements were reviewed and compiled before commencing a structured and detailed baseline studies and a refined modelling analysis has been conducted using AERMOD.
