PROJECT DETAILS

Gasal Q.S.C., in the process of expanding its business and manufacturing base in Qatar, is presently establishing an Air Stripping Unit to produce Oxygen and Nitrogen both in gaseous and liquid form. With expanding industrial operations and major oils and gas industrial units including downstream industries being planned within Ras Laffan Industrial City, the demand for industrial gases would enhance in the coming years.

In this anticipatory scenario, Gasal is taking the lead to establish the proposed unit with an intention to expand the process during the future for other additional industrial gases. Understanding the processes involved at the present proposal stage, it is evident that the operations would remain environmental friendly with no observable generation of gaseous or liquid wastes from the processes.

Gasal management has retained the services of Qatar Design Consortium (QDC) to carry out the baseline environmental study and prepare an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study report.

In order to relate the existing environment with the proposed project activity, it was imperative to carry out detail evaluation of the baseline environmental characteristics including: Ambient air Quality, Noise Level, Soil Quality, and Groundwater quality.  Applicable regulatory requirements were reviewed and compiled before commencing a structured and detailed baseline studies and a refined modelling analysis has been conducted using AERMOD.
