PROJECT DETAILS
Aero Freight CO. LTD, a pioneer on Global Logistics with the vision to provide planned and professional logistic services addressing material handling and storage for the various industries in Qatar.
The proposed facility is to come up within the Ras Laffan Industrial City (RLIC) at West side support service area (WSSA). The management of Aero Freight had retained the services of QDC Environment Division to carryout the Scope of Work (SoW) and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Study and obtain Environmental Approval from MME.
A structured and detailed survey including walk over survey, sampling analysis were performed for the evaluation of baseline characteristics.
Detailed air dispersion modeling exercise was undertaken using the modeling software (i.e.,TANK 4 and AERMOD) to assess the maximum incremental concentration associated with the emissions from the proposed project during the operation phase. The finding of the study indicates the worst case scenario levels for acid gases to exceed the standards. Also, the model results demonstrated that the probability for odours to be detected for any of the pollutants beyond the site premises especially at surrounding sensitive receptors to be very most unlikely since predicted air pollutant concentrations are noted to be well below the relevant odour threshold limits.
The project scope comprises of carrying out Environmental Impact Assessment for this facility. Aero Frieght had approached Qatar Design Consortium to carry out the scope of work (SoW) and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study and to prepare the report submitted to the MME and to obtain Environmental Approval from MME.A structured and detailed survey including walk over survey, sampling analysis were performed which includes critical environmental components like ambient air quality, ground water, soil and noise within study area. A series of recommendations to control and minimize risks and resulting impacts brought out from Risk Assessment studies.
