The project-scope comprises the design and build of a mixed-use fully independent neighborhood development project in the suburban of Doha City, Qatar. Qatar Land Reclamation And Development Company W.L.L (QLRDC) has acquired the land plot and now fully owning the right to develop the project to accommodate approximately 45,000 inhabitant and offer them the basic facilities, amenities and services they might need for a pleasant comfortable stay. The management of Project Proponent (QLRDC) and Project Management Consultant (ASCO Consulting Engineers) have engaged the services of QDC to carryout the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study and to prepare the report submitted to the MME.

The Masakin City would include residential units; amenities such as school, mosque,  hospital, auto-service station / petrol station,   government land and substations; hotels;   hotel apartments, and commercial units. The total plot has been divided into basic four zones by two central perpendicular roads. Also, it includes the development of residential complex with 11,439 flats and hotels that fulfill the requirements of tourists during the FIFA Cup 2022 and also the business tourists for the nearby industrial areas.

The environmental evaluation included the construction and operation phase activities and impacts on the environmental component. Required mitigation and management practices have been formulated as a part of the study along with the monitoring and reporting criteria for the project. As a part of the study environmental baseline characteristics were monitored and modelling was done including Social Impact Assessment study, baseline environmental monitoring studies such as Ambient Air Quality Monitoring, Noise and Vibration Monitoring, Odour Monitoring, Landfill Gas Monitoring, Terrestrial ecological survey and Modeling studies such as Air pollution dispersion studies, Noise modeling and Groundwater Modeling. Also Land Use and Land Cover map from satellite imageries using ARCGIS was prepared along with their interpretations.Soil and Groundwater Remediation plan and  Environmental Management Plan for both Construction and Operation phase have been prepared as well.
