International Galvanizing Technology Factory is being proposed by the management of Dolphin Holding W.L.L., as the demand for galvanized steel products is high in Qatar, and is expected to increase in the  foreseeable future. International Galvanizing Technology Factory will source the steel coils from domestic market, and consume within the state of Qatar.

Proposed International Galvanizing Technology Factory (IGTF) consisting of hot dip galvanizing process (with molten zinc) preserves the iron and steel pieces (Metallic products) from oxidation (rusting). The process essentially consists in immerging the metallic products in a dedicated bath of liquid metallic zinc, after preparing chemically, the products by means of dedicated surface treatments, performed in pre-treatment tanks.

International Galvanizing Factory Company (Group Company of Dolphin Holding) has retained the service of Gimeco Impianti, Italy for technology transfer. Gimeco Impianti is a leading engineering and manufacturing company dedicated to the hot dip galvanizing industry  Galvanizing of general iron steelworks is made by coating materials with coat of zinc and alloy of iron and zinc having thickness included between 80 and 250 μm.

The project scope comprises of carrying out Environmental Impact Assessment for this facility. Dolphin Holdings WLL had approached Qatar Design Consortium to carry out the scope of work (SoW) and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study and to prepare the report submitted to the MME and to obtain Environmental Approval from MME.A structured and detailed survey including walk over survey, sampling analysis were performed which includes critical environmental components like ambient air quality, noise monitoring, ground water, soil characterization and Air pollutant dispersion modelling at the study area.
