PROJECT DETAILS

Few of the major factors boosting growth of construction chemicals market in Qatar include increasing housing demand by urban population, rising awareness regarding quality of construction chemicals, expanding economy, high spending on construction activities by government and increasing construction of many infrastructure projects such as airports, subways, tunnels, damns, highways, bridges, railway networks, power plants as a part of preparations for upcoming FIFA World Cup in 2022.

The demand for construction chemicals in the country is also driven by increasing government spending on building highways, drainage systems, stadiums, hotels, etc. On account of high infrastructure growth anticipated in the City of Doha, the demand for construction chemicals is expected to witness robust growth. The Dura chemical factory for construction chemical is planned to produce various construction chemicals.

The Dura management had retained the services of Qatar Design Consortium (QDC) to carry out the baseline environmental study and prepare an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study report.

In order to relate the existing environment with the proposed project activity, it was imperative to carry out detail evaluation of the baseline environmental characteristics including: Ambient air Quality, Noise Level, Soil Quality, Groundwater quality, and Odour.  Applicable regulatory requirements were reviewed and compiled before commencing a structured and detailed baseline studies and a refined modelling analysis has been conducted using AERMOD.
