PROJECT DETAILS

In the present proposed project manufacture of Kraft paper with no deinking or chemical process involving bleaching or whitening of the fibres is involved. The raw materials for RCF based paper production consist mainly of recovered paper, water for boiler operation, recycled TSE for pulping processes, with no chemical additives at the process, and energy in the form of electrical power. Paper Industry environmental impact of recovered paper processing comprises basically emissions to water, and solid waste to include metal clips, inorganics from soiled paper and
plastic and atmospheric emission from LPG firing at the boiler operation. Use of raw water for boiler feed and TSE water for pulp preparation are associated impacts signifying the positive influences on the environment from the present project.

The project scope comprises of carrying out Environmental Impact Assessment for this facility. ASPF had approached Qatar Design Consortium to carry out the scope of work (SoW) and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study and to prepare the report submitted to the MME and to obtain Environmental Approval from MME.A structured and detailed survey including walk over survey, sampling analysis were performed which includes critical environmental components like ambient air quality, ground water, soil and noise within study area.
