PROJECT DETAILS

Umm Al Afaei Petrol Station facility located on the service road, adjacent to the Dukhan Road,  had been under operation for the last 15 years. The earlier existing facilities at Umm Al Afaei Petrol Station (UAPS) includes the bulk fuel storage and dispensing units for premium and super type of petrol  and diesel along with car wash, shopping area, ATM unit, Supermarket, cafeteria among other smaller unit operations.

In consideration of the new standards and requirements laid down by PSEC with regard to the type of construction of the bulk fuel storage tanks to be double walled tank, placed within concreted secondary containment and fuel dispensing equipment with vapour recovery devices, the management has presently carried out these modifications as per the approved drawing and documents issued by PSEC.

Therefore to conduct an Environmental evaluation leading through a structured EIA, the UAPS management had retained the services of Qatar Design Consortium (QDC) to identify existing contamination if any, to make decisions on the corrective or remedial actions prior to proceeding into the proposed demolition, construction, commission and operation activities and as identified at the State of Qatar’s Environmental Protection Law No. 30 of 2002.
