PROJECT DETAILS

Q-Per Paper factory management has planned an industrial unit to produce packaging quality kraft paper with a production capacity of 50 Tons per Day (TPD). The plant is to come up within the Waste Management Zone area of Mesaieed industrial City (MIC).  The management of Q-Per Paper had retained Environment Division, QDC as Environmental Consultant to carryout the Environmental Permitting and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)  Study and obtain Environmental Approval from Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME).

Q-Per Paper in the process of establishing the paper recycling industry has considered collection of secondary paper fibers as feed stock from local sources within Qatar. Secondary sources of recycle paper includes corrugated paper cutting wastes, packaging paper wastes, waste papers from household and business centers, among others. As a part of the study the requirement included the plan transit storage areas to organize waste paper bales for transportation.

The proposed paper manufacturing process plant operation with  Recycled Fibre paper (RCF) would result in significant reduction in Municipal Solid Waste (MSW),  representing sustainable developmental project and thereby support QNV 2030 Vision of Qatar. The positive impact would extent beyond the region of Qatar and result in saving cutting trees by lowering the demand on virgin fibre requirements.

As a part of the EIA study, wastewater treatment plant design has been proposed to ensure complete recycling on treatment and have a ZERO discharge operations.
