PROJECT DETAILS

The Management of Doha Petrol Station (DPS) has proposed demolition of the petrol station, which includes removal of underground fuel (Super and Diesel) storage tanks, dispensers, pile lines and all associated facilities.

DPS management has retained the services of Qatar Design Consortium (QDC) to carry out the baseline environmental study and prepare an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study report.

Based on first hand review of the demolition proposal and inspection of the closed petrol station facility, te EIA study essentially included the following:
• Impact assessment studies based on baseline environmental characterization of soil, groundwater, ambient air quality, and ambient noise to evaluate prevailing environmental condition and potential environmental scenario during proposed demolition.
• Remediation plan for relevant environmental components; as applicable and influenced by the baseline characterization.
• Demolition Environmental Management (DEMP) and framework document for environmental monitoring and reporting.
